Honour of Ekotopfilm
Within the frameworks of the XXV. Anniversary of the festival (1998) the Festival Committee made a decision to award "HONOUR OF EKOTOPFILM". According to the provisions and regulations this tribute shall be awarded to an outstanding domestic or foreign personality for his or her efforts achieving sustainable development, scientific inventions, humane and cultural activities or a lifework in favour of the development of humankind. It is the Festival Committee to make the decision based on the suggestions of the professional guarantors or other institutions.

He is the chairman of the INGKA Foundation. In his philanthropic activities, the company IKEA focuses on three main areas: the environment (particularly forest and rain forest preservation); projects aimed at preventing child labor and initiatives to promote education, and development of children.

Václav Havel (2003) expresident of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, expresident of the Czech Republic has received Honour of Ekotopfilm in person during the preview of the awarded films in Prague held on 18th of November 2003 at the outstanding representatives of culture and social life.
