Will we change the planet or ourselves?

The new edition of the EKOTOPFILM – ENVIROFILM festival is set to take off!

The International Film Festival EKOTOPFILM – ENVIROFILM is here again to change your lifestyle to a more sustainable one thanks to film screens! During one week, 66 documentary films from 30 countries will be presented at the festival. Current edition will take place from 27th to 31st May 2019 in Bratislava at the Pisztory Palace and Cinema Film Europe and in Cinemax Banská Bystrica in Europa SC.

.

The festival will again strongly promote the necessity of change and the key strength of the individual. Excessive consumption, unknowing behavior, disrespect for the environment, the negative impact of industrial progress in contrast to the untouched wilderness, nature, which is a perfect architect and at the same time a silent witness of extinction. The film program brings a wide range of topics. There will be accompanying discussions, inspiring speakers, a program for primary and secondary schools, and the possibility to buy eco-products and local design on site. The complete program will soon be published.

WE HAVE 100 YEARS LEFT TO LEAVE THE PLANET

,,Before he passed Stephen Hawking the world’s leading physicist said that we have 100 years left on the Earth and we need to find a new place to live if we want to survive as a species. I think it’s rather alarming information, it’s no science fiction anymore. However, we do not want to frighten festivalgoers, we want to inform them and motivate them to change, maybe to warn them a little. Festival films show not only the beauty and power of nature and remote places not yet marked by human activity, but also the opposite, the negative environmental impact of our everyday consumption. Here comes the inspiration – to learn from bad habits, to start a change. If we do not significantly change our behavior, there remains only one solution. To find a new planet. I think I speak for more of us when I say that I like it and prefer life here on planet Earth. We need to work on our relationship…” said festival director Peter Lím about the forthcoming event.

Film screenings and accompanying discussions are free of charge!

Will we change our perspective?

Don’t miss the new edition of the Ekotopfilm – Envirofilm festival from 27th to 31st May 2019 in Bratislava and Banska Bystrica and get motivated thanks to film screen and inspiring speakers.

Bring your friends and family and join those who care about the environment. The festival objective is to inspire and alter people’s attitude and relationship towards the environment, provide space for open discussion on sustainability of life on our Planet.
